How to get to Lake Salda

One way around the world from the surface of Mars to have two special place in Salda Lake, is known as one of Turkey’s enchanting beauty. This lake, which is about 4 km away from the center of Yesilova district of Burdur, is spread over an area of 44 square kilometers. Yeşilova district, Doğanbaba and Salda Lake is surrounded by Kayadibi, is among Turkey’s deepest lake with depths of up to 184 meters.

Salda Lake is one of the cleanest lakes Turkey which situates in Burdur-Denizli-Antalya them in the midst of the city. Located in the Göller Region, this lake is composed of a limestone-like structure called stromatolic rocks. These rocks, which are also seen on the surface of Mars, make it possible to produce magnesium on the surface of the lake. So the lake has a white color and the borders are white.

Those who do not trust swimming knowledge and those who do not swim can benefit from not entering the lake.

There is also the possibility to camp at Yeşilova Municipality Public Beach or Doganbaba Public Beach. However, only the Yeşilova Municipality Public Beach has a facility where you can meet your needs or rent a bungolov. It is forbidden to camp anywhere except these two places because the lake and the lake are surrounded by the site.

These four cities can also be reached with Turkey over the shield intercity buses. There are also airports in the districts of Denizli and Antalya. If you want to reach Gödur without a vehicle, you can come to Burdur or Isparta by bus and go to the bus that goes to the shoreline from Bus Station or you can go to Antalya or Denizli by plane and go to the minibuses going towards Salda Lake.

  1. I’m planning on visiting Lake Salda in a few weeks time. Do you know much about the campsite – do they provide tents, sleeping bags, etc? Is it possible to camp there all year round? Many thanks
